Copilot as a Process Accelerator
One of the biggest things Copilot has done for me isn't writing content. It's helping me get unstuck.
I can't tell you how many times I've heard someone say, "Just send me a draft and I'll provide some feedback." Honestly, I'm the same way. A rough draft is often all it takes to get the ideas flowing, spark better feedback, and move a conversation forward. Staring at a blank page usually doesn't get anyone very far.
That's exactly how I use Copilot. If I'm not sure where to start, I'll ask for an outline, a draft, or even just some ideas. Not because I expect it to be perfect, but because it's easier to improve something than create everything from scratch. Once I have a starting point, I can challenge it, refine it, add my own perspective, and get to a solid outcome much faster than I would have on my own.
Over time, Copilot has become a lot more than a writing assistant for me. I use it to think through problems, pressure-test ideas, organize my thoughts, and look at situations from different angles. Some of the biggest wins haven't come from drafting content at all. They've come from helping me work through messy, ambiguous problems and getting me to a decision faster.
What really makes Copilot stand out is that it's already where I work. I can use it in Outlook, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, and the rest of Microsoft 365 without having to jump between different tools. The AI shows up in the flow of work instead of becoming another thing I have to manage.
Whether I'm analyzing data, building a presentation, designing an automation, or preparing for a meeting, Copilot helps remove a lot of the busy work so I can spend more time on the parts that actually need my attention.
The organizations seeing the biggest impact from AI aren't just giving people access to new technology. They're finding ways to weave it into their everyday work. When that happens, teams spend less time fighting friction and more time focused on decisions, creativity, and moving work forward.
That's why I think the real conversation isn't about what Copilot can create. It's about how much faster it can help you think, decide, and make progress.
